About the Yandex Problem

Hello everyone. We are aware of the 'Yandex problem', we also know this is very upsetting. You click on the album you want to download just to see a blocked file. We understand you all.

The thing is. Yandex changed the way it limits its accounts. Now a file cannot be downloaded after the limit of the account is reached. This happens because each Yandex account has a quota every day. When that account reaches its quota the links are blocked momentarily. We are now using different accounts and different servers to try and fix that, but every time a new set of users visit us or a post gets very popular we have many downloads at the same time and we reach our quota.

But don't let that discourage you!

You have two option when that happens:

1 - You can wait and download the album the next day, the quota returns to zero every day.

2 - You can register for an account (for free) and save that file to your account. Then you can proceed and download direct from your own account and delete it later if you want.

You just have to create an account through THIS LINK HERE, Yandex is also in English, not just Russian. After creating an account you can click on the album you want to download and use the yellow button SAVE TO YANDEX.DISK. After that you just go to your account and download from there. That's it! With an account you will never have a problem again. And no, we don't get anything if you create an account through our link. You can go to Google type Yandex and create an account from there if you want to.

If you don't want to create an account, we understand you, it's ok. You can just wait a day or two and everything comes back to normal. Or you can just browse through our other albums, we have almost 10.000 albums on the blog, for sure you can find something else you are interested!

    1. Ahh yeah, the Zippyshare defenders....

Not the first one to say Zippyshare is going to solve all problems. Ah if I got a penny everytime I hear this one.

If you say Zippyshare is the best option around you clearly don't have a blog. For downloading from it, yeah, maybe, from someone that uploads, no, Zippyshare is simply horrible.

First, not one, not two, but at least a dozen blogs I know and visit had problems where whole accounts were deleted.

Not just that, Zippyshare keep your files for 30 days. If a file is not downloaded within 30 days it is deleted.

We have over 10.000 albums in this blog, do you think all 10.000 albums are downloaded once a month? No.

We have files on Yandex stored for almost 4 years. All available. Are we going to risk that extra work for something instable as Zippyshare? No! As long as Zippyshare uses this stupid policy we will never use it.

  2. Thank you for your work! Great Music!!

  3. Another alternative, if available, is to use the view option and download the songs individually.

  4. I won't pretend that Yandex policy is not a problem. True, for sometime now they - literally - force you to register an account but ... as far as I can see, it's not a big deal! I already have one and there is no problem at all up to today. On the other hand, Zippyshare is the nirvana of the downloaders but the 30 days period of storing a file is not enough - I have already 'lost' some of my uploaded files (although they have not erased any of them intentionally as hinted)! Since we want free downloads, let's make room for some 'compromises'.

    1. That's exactly what we think dfl.

Soon download will start to appear less frequently on Yandex. But as you said, people want free downloads and they want it now and in one click. The 'if it's not one click I don't want anymore' mentality is complicated.

As you said, Yandex is forcing downloaders to register, but on the other hand, that's not a big deal to have an extra e-mail and a 10gb disk space for free. And they are very reliable, we NEVER had any files deleted.

But also, you don't want to register? Cmon, try again tomorrow or search for old files :)

  5. I'm finding that I can register with Yandex, but then the next time I re-boot and try to log on I get a complete falacious message that my account is compromised (after only visitng this web site). The only way to get around this is to give them your mobile no. Sorry, but no way am I passing on phone numbers. That's twice now, so it's not an accident.

    1. Yeah, this can happen, but it only happens (with our accounts, at least) if you try to open more than one account at once.

We still have 75% of our accounts without giving any phone number.

Maybe try to open another account.

    2. Perhaps it's because I'm using linux. I'm on my 3rd account 'locked' because of an 'infection'. Interesting that they can tell my linux box is infected yet nothing esle does.

    3. I am not so sure about that, but both of your comments were in the Spam folder. I am not sure why, very little comments go to Spam, and both of you were there. Maybe there's something to do with the way Linux is handling your IP or something?

    4. Perhaps so. I've got another PS with a fresh install of linux, I'll see what happens there....
But, let me say, I'm not complaining, I just wanted to pass on my experience in case anyone else is also getting this behaviour.

I greaty appreciate what you have done with this web site, and if I have to start with user Jimmy-001 through to Jimmy-999 on Yandex to use it, it is worth the hassle.
It's worth it to discover something new that was posted 2 years ago.

      So thank you...

    1. Tell me what's the difference between shorte.st and Linkbucks, adf.ly or any other website like that? They are all the same. Having said that, shorte.st is nowehere near as annoying as some others.

  7. As (probably) one of the most vocal Yandex-bitchers here, I can't stress enough LISTEN TO LEENA.

Follow her directions re Yandex and you'll be fine. (Just knowing you can bypass the Cyrillic-character version should quell any doubts or misgivings.)

Trust me - I bitched *constantly* about the Yandex blocks, but I'm also much too fond of this site to want to abandon it. Leena's suggestions are the most reasonable solution to the issues raised by the Yandex changes.

  11. i have read all the comments here and it looks like the guys don't know a lot about downloadings!!You are ''RIGHT'' in everything you said!!YANDEX is one of the best sites to ''keep'' your uploads but not the best because i have seen a certain blog that have lost about 30% of its uploads!!The best ones are Mediafire and 2shared because i have seen there files that exist even since 2010!!!I know a person that is using ''Minhateca'' and looks nice as i have seen files there from 2015!!

Zippyshare is ''fast'' and ''simple'' but except one site that i know all the other sites have lost ALL their files usually after 4 months from the time that they have uploaded them!!''Mega'' has problem too as i have seen many sites that have lost there their files!!''Mirrorcreator'' is awful too!!
About''shorte.se'' is not a problem as we are waiting only 5 seconds and thats all!!Thanks for all the good music!!

    1. Thanks for your comment.

I used all of these servers (and many many many more during the last 13/14 years). I am not so sure about Yandex and losing files, we've been using it for 4 years, never lost one single file.

Mediafire is far far from being the best, it's a good server, sure, and we are using it occasionally but we also lost full accounts on it.

2shared has old files on it, because, let's be honest, very few people use it and every time I try a link from 2Shared in other blogs it's offline.

MeGa is very good, we had a few problems but nothing very big.

Minhateca changed it's services 2 times in the last couple of years and during a long time you had to pay for using it. It's free again, but we're not risking with such a service.

At the moment I think we have a very good selection: Yandex, Cloud Mail Ru, MeGa, Mediafire and Up 4 Ever. At the moment we are not looking for new servers :)
